Ocean slime

Eve loves making slime! It is so fun and she will spend a long time just playing with it. So we decided to make some ‘ocean’ slime in line with our current topic ‘under the sea’.

We have tried numerous different ways to make slime in the past and i am still undecided which is the best. So today, we made 2 different sorts.

Our first batch was made with Elmer’s Magical Liquid. We got ours from Amazon click here to get yours. For this recipe you need;

  • 1 cup pva glue
  • blue food colouring
  • blue glitter
  • 4 tsp Elmer’s magical liquid

This recipe is really simple to do with great results. In a bowl, pour in your 1 cup of pva glue. Then add your food colouring and stir. When you’re happy with your colour, add in some glitter for a sparkly effect and stir. When all this is combined, add in the Elmer’s magical liquid, a teaspoon at a time and stir thoroughly. You will see the glue start to come together and form slime. Add enough magical liquid to ensure the slime stays together, we used 4 teaspoons for ours, you may need a bit more or a bit less. When you’re happy with your slime, turn it out onto a table or flat surface and knead to remove the ‘stickiness’. Then get playing!

Our second batch was made with borax. We bought bought ours off ebay, click here for the link. This slime has a few more processes involved. below is the ingredients you need;

  • 1/2 cup pva glue
  • warm water
  • 1/4 tsp borax powder
  • blue food colouring
  • blue glitter (optional)

Firstly in a bowl pour 1/2 cup of warm water and add in the borax powder. Still until dissolved. In a separate bowl mix together 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of pva glue. Next add the food colouring to get the desired colour and glitter if using. Mix well. Then add in the borax solution and stir vigorously. Then turn out onto a flat surface and knead until it becomes less sticky, then get playing.

We hope you found these recipes useful. Let us know how you get on.
